My Book Wish Ambassador Program
The My Book Wish Ambassador Program is a leadership and service opportunity for students, educators, and community members who are passionate about promoting literacy and educational access. Ambassadors serve as local representatives of My Book Wish, advancing educational equity efforts in their own neighborhoods while being part of a larger state- and nation-wide movement. The program consists of two tracks: the Grassroots Ambassador Track and the Pilot Ambassador Track.

Grassroots Ambassador Track
The Grassroots Ambassador Track is designed for those who want to support an already existing chapter! Grassroots Ambassadors can support ongoing initiatives, run book drives, fundraise, host events, or design novel initiatives to expand the State Chapter’s operations. Grassroots Ambassadors work closely with their respective State Chapter leadership.
Grassroots Ambassadors receive the following benefits:
- Priority consideration for future Chapter leadership positions if in good standing
- Resources, network, and infrastructure of My Book Wish to facilitate your advocacy and service efforts
- Recognition on our website and social media upon completion of project
- Certificate of volunteer hours
- Ownership and autonomy balanced with guidance from State Chapter leadership
Pilot Ambassador Track
The Pilot Ambassador Track is designed for those who want to pilot-test a chapter in a new state or region! Pilot Ambassadors will need to design initiatives in new communities from scratch, ensure the long-term sustainability of the chapter, and work closely with the National Board to ensure fulfillment of the organizational mission.
Pilot Ambassadors receive the following benefits:
- Recognized as Board leader(s) if new Chapter successfully established
- Resources, network, and infrastructure for cross-state collaborations if/when the new State Chapter is formally established
- Recognition on our website and social media upon completion of pilot project and/or establishment of new State Chapter
- Certificate of volunteer hours
- Ownership and autonomy balanced with guidance from National Board leadership
